EMM from the telecom cloud

The EMM suite of Telekom subsidiary T-Systems bundles solutions from partners such as Mobileiron, SAP and Blackberry for the management of mobile devices, applications and content. The applications would be deployed from the cloud and hosted in telecom-certified German data centers.

According to Deutsche Telekom, EMM Suite (Enterprise Mobility Management Suite) is a complete solution that enables companies to not only configure their mobile devices, but also to securely manage applications and data. Employees could securely access corporate resources, as well as read, edit and redistribute data on the go. Also new applications should be preconfigured via the EMM Suite to play on the devices. Subsequently, they are directly usable and securely linked to the company network.

According to Telekom, only current technologies from leading EMM manufacturers such as Mobileiron, SAP and Blackberry are used. The applications would be deployed from the cloud and hosted in telecom-certified German data centers. The suite covers all major operating systems, such as iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Blackberry. It will be supplemented by additional services, from support for the rollout to complete management by Telekom.

T-Systems offers the EMM Suite in "Smart", "Flex" and "Complete" versions. In the basic "Smart" version, customers can choose between an MDM solution from Mobileiron and the Telekom software platform "Secure App Container ". Telekom provides both solutions from the public cloud .With the "Flex" solution, it is possible to individually expand the Smart version with additional services, eg Telekom can manage the complete solution for customers in the private cloud , support the rollout if necessary or take over the on-site troubleshooting ( Hardware Break & Fix). Further services are available on request.

In the version "Complete" the customer has the choice between solutions from Mobileiron, SAP Afaria and Blackberry Enterprise Service 12. Included are already a User Help Desk, a central Telekom contact for all questions and an administration service. As with the "Flex" variant, customers could optionally add services such as the rollout service, hardware break & fix and more extensive SLAs. In the "Complete" version, companies also have the option of purchasing all applications as an on-premise version. The Telekom would take care of the management, so that the customer could concentrate on the core business.
