It is hard to imagine that ten years ago there was neither Facebook nor Google Maps, Dropbox, YouTube or Twitter. Today we work daily with these services. Of course, everyone wants to know what will be possible for people in the future. That's why every five years I try to look ahead to our lives and jobs over the next ten years. But just because the technologies are changing so fast, it is difficult to make a reliable forecast for 2025.
Overrated robotics
In many surveys about the future, the field of robotics is often addressed. However, I do not believe that the development of robotics in the workplace will be all about making humanoid robots work in our offices. I think our robotic assistants will tend to be in the background and, like Watson at IBM, have artificial intelligence combined with the technologies we use.
This development, along with further advances in anticipatory computing, will help to develop software that has a better understanding of our preferences and artificial intelligence. Among other things, she will be able to take into account our mood and feelings. This software will learn our way of working and adapt accordingly. She will realize that creative minds work differently than rational thinkers. The technology will be able to adapt to introverted or extroverted people. She will understand how we want to communicate and work with other colleagues.focus on the essentials
And perhaps most importantly, the new technologies will help us focus on what matters most. Over the last decade, we have lost the ability to focus on our work. With new messages appearing on our screen all day, we never manage to do our jobs from A to Z. That will change with the new systems. They will help us focus more on individual tasks. The software will be so sophisticated that even the most complicated tasks are easy to do and even fun.
