The Ingenico Group, a global provider of integrated payment solutions, is partnering with the Deutsche Börse Cloud Exchange, the marketplace for Infrastructure-as-a-Service ( IaaS ) resources, offering an individualized payment solution for the cloud marketplace. Customers can choose from a range of popular payment methods, through an interface provided by Ingenico Payment Services, DBCE has access to more than 150 international, local and alternative payment methods.
At the DBCE, Ingenico Payment Services was involved from the conception phase through to implementation. This was important, as fundamental questions had to be clarified during the conception of the marketplace. For example, it was necessary to clarify whether the marketplace provider manages the funds on a fiduciary basis or finds another solution. In Europe, the respective financial regulators demand that funds can only be managed in trust by the supervisory authorities. However, the qualification as a payment institution is very complex, explains Christoph Jung, Head of Sales at Ingenico Payment Services.
Thus, DBCE has developed a construct together with Ingenico Payment Services, in which neither Ingenico Payment Services uses its own license as a payment institution, nor does DBCE have to apply for one. The concept is set up so that every dealer on the platform receives the money directly. This means that every single dealer on the platform has its own technical access. In this account, the contract data of the individual acceptance partner of the dealer are stored. The platform itself securely manages the customer's payment data and makes it available as a token to the individual merchants so that they can carry out the billing independently. In addition to the technical access, retailers also use Ingenico Payment Services as an acquirer: if merchants want to process credit card payments, they also need an acquirer in addition to a technical provider. Since the beginning of the year, Ingenico Payment Services has been acting as an acceptance partner for credit cards in Europe. This allows the service provider to provide the customer with everything from one source.
"We are very pleased to have won the Deutsche Börse Cloud Exchange as a customer and to support them in their innovative marketplace concept," says Christoph Jung, Head of Sales DACH at Ingenico Payment Services. "Our service enables the customers of Deutsche Börse AG and the dealers acting on the marketplace to process payment transactions easily and without much effort."
"Ingenico Payment Services convinced us with its single-source approach - as a payment service provider and its diversity in payment medium acceptance," comments Maximilian Ahrens, Chief Product Officer at Deutsche Börse Cloud Exchange. "The large number of possible payment methods and acceptance partners of Ingenico Payment Services optimally support our international concept."
