Rackspace Announces AWS Managed Services

Rackspace and Amazon Web Services are now working together. As part of the partnership, Rackspace provides tools, expertise, application management and operational support to AWS Cloud customers. The core Fanatical Support for AWS offering is complemented by three additional services: AWS, Compliance Assistance for AWS, and Managed Cloud for Adobe Experience Manager on AWS.

The offering addresses businesses that want to use the capabilities of the AWS Cloud and are looking for partner support, said Rackspace. The company manages numerous mission-critical cloud environments. As the company says, customers can also benefit from migration services and established business processes that can be adapted to the specific business and technology needs of the business.

Fanatical Support for AWS provides organizations with managed cloud services, tools, and applications. Rackspace integrates automation, technology and know-how for architectures, management, security services and operations. This is supported by AWS certified developers and architects.

Additionally, Rackspace is an authorized reseller for Amazon Web Services (AWS). The company, known as the OpenStack founding member and open source user, has now completed the audit as a Managed Services Partner and joins the AWS Partner Network as an Advanced Consulting Partner with over 100 certified AWS developers. For this Rackspace founded a new department. Chris Cochran, Rackspace's Senior Vice President and General Manager comments, "Our new business unit and the addition of our portfolio of managed service offerings to AWS Support allow us to offer our customers more choice for their infrastructure deployments. Fanatical Support and the AWS Cloud are a powerful combination that we now provide. "

The offer meets various customer needs in the areas of infrastructure and applications:

Fanatical Support for AWS comes in two service levels: "Navigator" for customers who want to benefit from the tools and experience of Rackspace but want to stay in control, and "Aviator" for the complete management of AWS environments by the service provider. Both services are currently available outside the US as a beta version.

Rackspace Managed Security for AWS provides advanced detection of host and network-level threats with centralized logging and analysis capabilities. The service is supported by Rackspace's own Security Operations Center. Rackspace Compliance Assistance for AWS helps customers with PCI and other security compliance requirements. Both offers are in the beta phase.

Rackspace Managed Cloud for Adobe Experience Manager simplifies and accelerates the installation of digital marketing software. The solution makes it easy to host, configure, and operate Experience Manager by deploying a managed automation platform on AWS. This service is currently available in beta for some US customers.

Terry Wise, Vice President of Worldwide Partner Ecosystem at Amazon Web Services Inc., said, "We are impressed with Rackspace's commitment to integrate beta customers into their AWS Managed Service offerings and certify a large number of their technicians."
